PUTNEY, Vt. (AP) - The library in the Vermont town of Putney has a new director.

After a nationwide search, the Putney Public Library Search Committee chose Emily Zervas of Westminster, the former Reference and Historical Collections Librarian at the Rockingham Free Public Library.

Zervas is replacing Steve Coronella, who retired at the end of last year after leading the Putney library for 15 years.

The Brattleboro Reformer (https://bit.ly/1wbBKbU ) reports the search committee received 27 applications from as far away as Texas, Florida and South Carolina. But in the end they chose Zervas, who lives 15 miles from Putney.
