Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s campaign is advertising T-shirts featuring the slogan “Tanned. Rested. Ready. Jindal 2016.”
“The liberal media said, ‘There’s not much Indian left in Bobby Jindal,’ so we made shirts to mock them,” Mr. Jindal, the nation’s first Indian-American governor, tweeted Tuesday.
The line is an apparent reference to a quote from a political science professor in a recent Washington Post profile of Mr. Jindal.
Mr. Jindal also used the line in his speech last week announcing his 2016 candidacy for president.
“In case it’s not clear by now, I’m running for president without permission from headquarters in Washington, D.C. But rest assured — I’m tanned, rested, and ready for this fight,” he said.
