GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a teenage boy who was shot and killed by a Grand Junction police officer following a fatal traffic accident.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports (https://goo.gl/upSujK ) 17-year-old David Gaines was fleeing in a truck after a fight with his father Tuesday when he crossed into oncoming traffic and hit the motorcycle, killing the 57-year-old rider. Authorities say the teen fled on foot and was shot and killed moments later after he tried to force a woman out of her vehicle.
The officer who shot Gaines has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
