Police arrested a Florida woman Saturday who had been seen in photos “riding” a sea turtle.

Stephanie Marie Moore, 20, of Melbourne was arrested on a felony warrant earlySaturday morning, the Melbourne Police Department said in a Facebook post.

Police included a screen shot of a Snapchat photo of Ms. Moore seemingly straddling the back of a sea turtle in the post.

“In early July, two women were seen in photographs where they appeared to be riding on sea turtles. These pictures flooded social media networks and eventually multiple complaints were forwarded to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, who handled the criminal investigation,” the post read.

Police were responding to a disturbance call at a home around 5 a.m. During the investigation, officers found Ms. Moore, who they identified as one of the two women in the July photos.

Ms. Moore was arrested on an active felony warrant for molesting a marine turtle and taken to the Brevard County Jail. Her bond was set at $2,000, according to the post.
