The sheriff of Anne Arundel County was arrested Sunday evening, according to multiple news outlets.
ArundelNewsNet.com reported that Anne Arundel County Police from the Eastern District responded to a domestic violence call just before 7:30 p.m. on Pasadena Yacht Road and arrested the victim’s husband, Sheriff Ron Bateman.
CapitalGazette.com in Anne Arundel County said Sheriff Bateman was charged with second-degree assault, a misdemeanor, according to online court records.
ArundelNewsNet.com said his weapons and credentials have been taken for safekeeping.
