In keeping with a strategy to bypass major pollsters and the news media, Donald Trump has issued his fourth public opinion poll. The first three sought advice from respondents for his campaign strategy, the news media and ways to counter rival Hillary Clinton. This one — the “Platform for America Survey’ — looks for input on major issues, including immigration, abortion, traditional values, the federal debt and other visceral voter matters.

The 30-question poll asks respondents to agree or disagree on the issues. A few sample talking points from the survey:

- The rise of anti-police rhetoric is leading to an increase in violence against our men and women in uniform.

- New immigrants from countries rife with terrorism should undergo vetting.

- Traditional American values are currently under assault in America.

- America should stop nation-building abroad while so many at home are struggling.

Kellyanne Conway, Mr. Trump’s new campaign manager, offers an introduction. And like messages from the previous polls, it emphasizes that the GOP nominee considers the American people his greatest advisors.

“We still have a lot to do, and little time to do it,” Ms. Conway advises. “We have 79 days to broaden our support and win over the hearts of undecided voters, fight back against Hillary’s slanderous attacks with ads of our own and execute a massive, nationwide grass-roots ground game.

“Your honest, critical feedback helps us keep our campaign on message and ensures it’s resonating with the American people,” she says. “I don’t have to tell you — the mainstream media is always going to try to distort our message. But my job is to help cut through the media’s noise and get our message straight to the voter. To successfully do that, I need your help.”
