CINCINNATI (AP) - A new president for the University of Cincinnati is expected to be announced this weekend.

The university says its Board of Trustees will meet in special session Saturday to consider the appointment of the school’s 30th president.

The public university has more than 44,000 students.

A presidential search committee has been looking for a new president since Santa Ono (OH’-noh) left to lead the University of British Columbia in June.

UC named Beverly Davenport, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, to serve as interim president.

The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees on Thursday unanimously approved the appointment of Davenport as the first female chancellor of that public university system’s flagship campus in Knoxville.

This story has been corrected to show that the new president will be UC’s 30th president, not the 29th.
