CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a woman survived a three-vehicle accident on a Phoenix-area freeway that caused her SUV to get wedged underneath a tractor-trailer.

The SUV’s top was partially sheared off and firefighters had to extricate the woman.

Trizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves says the accident occurred Friday morning on the westbound Loop 202 freeway in Chandler.

According to Graves, the woman’s SUV collided with a work truck, which then struck the freeway’s center wall, causing the SUV driver to lose control of her vehicle.

The SUV then crossed to the outside traffic lane, collided with the big rig and end up wedged underneath the trailer.

Graves says the woman’s injuries aren’t life-threatening and that nobody else was injured.

He says it isn’t known what caused the initial collision.

This story was corrected to reflect that the top was partially sheared off.
