PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A former Philadelphia prosecutor who pleaded guilty in a criminal mischief case involving a former boyfriend has been suspended from practicing law for 30 months.
The Philadelphia Inquirer (https://bit.ly/2iaXvfV ) reports that the disciplinary board imposed the suspension Monday on 49-year-old Lynn Nichols but made it retroactive to July 2014, crediting her with 29 months served.
Nichols resigned in October 2013 and was placed on probation after her misdemeanor plea in an alleged scheme to help a boyfriend in a stolen car case and then seek revenge after their breakup.
Nichols spent 22 years with the district attorney’s office, rising to homicide unit assistant chief. Attorney Brian McMonagle, who represented her in the criminal case, said she was “very relieved” and looking forward to resuming her practice soon.
