ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - One of the sons charged in the upstate New York murder of his father, whose body was badly disfigured by sulfuric acid, had been ticketed on his way to court to be arraigned for murder.

WHAM-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2haWyCA ) that Colin Rideout was stopped on Monday and ticketed for unlicensed operation and suspended registration. He also had a legally owned rifle and knife in the vehicle.

He and his brother, the victim’s estranged wife, and her boyfriend have pleaded not guilty in connection with the death of Craig Rideout.

His body was found wrapped in a tarp in a wooded area near Penn Yan in New York’s Finger Lakes region in July. It was badly disfigured by sulfuric acid, and court papers indicate he was strangled at his suburban Rochester residence.
