ATLANTA (AP) - A woman is asking for the public’s help after she says someone stole her car at an Atlanta-area gas station while her dog was still inside the vehicle.

Toni Acey tells WSB-TV (https://2wsb.tv/2hTpKwv ) that she was placing her debit card into a BP pump in Fulton County when a man jumped in the passenger door and sped off in the blue 2006 Lexus.

Acey says her beloved white Maltese dog, “Chocolate,” was in the car, as well as her phone and purse. She hopes someone who knows something about the theft will contact Fulton County Police.

Fulton County Commission Chairman John Eaves says there has been a spike in gas station customer robberies and carjacking, but he did not offer any specific figures.
