MONROE, N.C. (AP) - Union County sheriff’s deputies say a woman has been shot to death and a man has been arrested.
Tony Underwood with the sheriff’s office told local media outlets that the shooting happened shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday south of Monroe.
The woman died at the scene. Her name has not been released. Deputies have not yet released the name of the man in custody or what charges he might face.
There was no word on a motive in the shooting. No other details were immediately available.
