OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - State transportation safety regulators fined a party bus company $10,000 for operating and advertising without the proper permit.

The Utilities and Transportation Commission also ordered Executive Limousine to cease operations.

Officials say the company was advertising services on its website and were able to make a reservation with the company for party bus services.

In a hearing before an administrative law judge, the owner said the company acts as the parent company to his construction firm. He said the company stopped offering service in 2015 and now brokers all transportation services like other third-party broker websites.

The judge did not agree and found the company was conducting business that requires commission approval.
