I am befuddled by and totally outraged at the dense rhetoric in President Obama’s thinking — and in the thinking of the millions who believe a man with no experience and no known credentials for his current job. “Obama thanks U.S. Muslims, promises respectful treatment in terrorism probes” (Web, Feb. 3) states that Mr. Obama “thanked American Muslims for their contributions to the nation, promised they will be treated with sensitivity in counterterrorism probes and said Islam is not to blame for terrorist attacks.” Apparently Mr. Obama concluded his talk by thanking those at the mosque and saying, “We are one American family.” This is, of course, a mosque whose former, longtime imam is on record saying suicide bombings are sometimes justifiable.

Has Mr. Obama visited the six-month-old child of terrorist parents who chose to make their baby a lifelong orphan and victim? Will he one day explain to this infant that the carnage and circumstances from which she emerged were “justifiable”? Has Mr. Obama visited the relatives of Americans beheaded for the ‘crime’ of being Christian, and told them the murders were “justifiable”? Finally, has he visited the parents of young girls kidnapped for sexual slavery and explained same?

This situation is akin to President Roosevelt thanking the Nazis.
