A police operation was under way Thursday afternoon at Sydney Opera House in Australia, one of the world’s most iconic sites.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, police were clearing people from the area and some ferry services were canceled.

Police confirmed to the newspaper that an operation was ongoing but provided no immediate details.

“All workers from the Opera house now outside away from the building,” one Australian tweeted with a photo from the site.

Police were searching the area around Manly Wharf, the Morning Herald reported.

According to witnesses, there were helicopters buzzing overhead and police patrol boats in the water.
