STATESVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in Iredell County say two men have been arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a large quantity of Oxycontin pills.

A statement from the Iredell County Sherriff’s Office said members of an enforcement team stopped two men traveling south on Interstate 77. A deputy spotted a bag of marijuana in the car, and subsequent search turned up a paint can with a false bottom which contained the Oxycontin pills.

Officials said Anthony Jaron Prettyman and Cory Michael Laurenson were jailed after they were charged with trafficking in Schedule II controlled substance by possession, maintaining a vehicle for the transport of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. They’re being held under a $2 million bond, and it’s not known if they have attorneys.
