NEW RINGGOLD, Pa. (AP) - State police are investigating a report that an eastern Pennsylvania couple’s voter registration records were switched from Republican to Democrat without their knowledge.

Troopers at the Frackville barracks say they’re treating the case involving the New Ringgold couple as one of possible election fraud and forgery.

Police aren’t releasing the names of the couple, a 47-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man, who say Schuylkill (SKOOL’-kil) County voter registration officials mailed them new registration cards on Oct. 21.

Police have since determined someone filed applications to change the couple’s party registration back on Oct. 9.

Police haven’t filed charges nor said whether they have a suspect.
