ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (AP) - A Rocky Mount woman shot at her home earlier this week has died.

Police told local media outlets that 43-year-old Tonya Boyd was shot and wounded Monday morning. Police say she died late Monday at a hospital.

Her boyfriend, 48-year-old Vincent White, is being charged with first-degree murder.

Court records show that Boyd had a temporary restraining order against White.

Police say White shot Boyd and her son, 21-year-old Emmanuel Boyd as they escorted a younger child to a school bus stop. The younger child was not hurt.

White is also charged with attempted first-degree murder for wounding Emmanuel Boyd.
