MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The deadline has been extended for grant applications for Vermont projects that protect, restore and enhance the state’s waterways.

Municipalities, local and regional government agencies, sporting clubs, non-profit organizations, and water-related citizen groups are eligible for the 2017 Vermont Watershed Grants Program. The application deadline has been extended to Dec. 2.

Projects also are eligible if they help Vermonters understand and enjoy t. They include up to $5000 per project for education and outreach; up to $3,500 per project for planning, assessment, inventory and monitoring; and up to $10,000 for on-the-ground implementation.



The program created by the legislature is a joint project of the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department and the Department of Environmental Conservation and is funded by sales of the Vermont Conservation License Plate.
