DINWIDDIE, Va. (AP) - Authorities in Dinwiddie County say a suspicious man approached a middle school student and offered him a ride.

The county sheriff’s office tells news outlets that the incident happened early Tuesday morning in Dinwiddie.

Investigators say the man, described as a white male in his 50s, drove up to the 14-year-old student at a bus stop in a gray, older-model SUV and offered to take the student to school. The student declined and ran back home.

Deputies say the suspect was wearing a cap and had gray hair. Investigators are calling the incident “suspicious.”
