EAST NORWICH, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a Long Island man is facing a murder charge after he stabbed his wife to death inside their apartment and then stabbed himself.

Newsday reports (https://nwsdy.li/2ed88ID ) Nassau County police say Warren Ducker stabbed his 61-year-old wife, Wendy Ginsberg-Ducker, inside their East Norwich apartment on Sunday before stabbing himself.

Police say Ginsberg-Ducker was found dead in her bed with multiple stab wounds.

Detective Lt. Richard LeBrun says her stab wounds don’t seem to be from a “mercy killing.” He declined to elaborate on a motive.

Ginsberg-Ducker had a GoFundMe page to raise money for her and her husband as she battled cancer.

Ducker remained hospitalized in critical, but stable, condition. He hasn’t been arraigned.

It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney.
