INDIO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say about 165 people may have been exposed to tuberculosis at a Southern California high school.

The Desert Sun newspaper says (https://desert.sn/2fjFAjb ) a student at Indio High School has been diagnosed with TB.

Parents of students who might have been exposed were notified on Tuesday. Riverside County health officials say about 165 people may have been exposed.

The county will conduct TB tests at the campus on Nov. 15.

The county says the risk of infection is slight but it’s urging students and faculty to be tested.

In June, a student at Cahuilla Elementary School was diagnosed with TB and a Desert Mirage High School student was diagnosed in February. About 200 students were tested for the disease.
