SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Democrat Ben McAdams will serve another term as Salt Lake County mayor after Republican Dave Robinson conceded the race.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/2fCGSWP) Robinson congratulated the mayor Tuesday as results showed him with 62 percent of the vote.

McAdams is a Mormon Democrat who earned a reputation for being able to work with legislators on both sides of the aisle during his tenure as a state senator.

Robinson is a construction company owner who accused him of holding closed-door meetings on a long-term plan called the “Mountain Accord” that lays out a vision for the county that includes ski resorts and rich lands for outdoor sports.

McAdams denied the allegations.

McAdams has vowed to reform the criminal justice system, address homeless issues and improve preschool access for low-income children in his second term.
