NEW YORK (AP) - A Long Island woman is facing charges including attempted murder of a police officer in connection to a New York Police Department officer getting hit in the head by a pellet from a pellet gun.
The NYPD says the officer, a detective, was in plainclothes and in an unmarked car in the Jamaica section of Queens on Wednesday evening. Authorities say he was hit in the forehead by a pellet that came from the passenger in a car going in the opposite direction.
A police investigation using the car’s make and license plate led to a 24-year-old resident of Riverhead, New York. She was arrested on Saturday and also faces assault and other charges.
