SMITHS STATION, Ala. (AP) - Lee County authorities say a Smiths Station man died after being shot in the head.

Coroner Bill Harris tells AL.com (https://bit.ly/2dVtZqc) the shooting happened Saturday night at a home on Lee County Road 246.

Harris says when sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene they found Walter L. Lee III with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

He was taken to a Columbus hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:41 p.m.

Harris says police believe the victim was at his home arguing with another person when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot Lee.

Police continue their search for the shooter.
