BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont man is headed to prison after pleading guilty to charges of sexual assault and lewd and lascivious conduct.

The Brattleboro Reformer (https://bit.ly/2dYjnrS ) reports that 22-year-old Blake Dowley, of Newfane, was sentenced last week in Windham Superior Court to three months in prison, followed by 10 years of probation. He will be registered as a sex offender for 10 years.

One victim told Brattleboro police that Dowley assaulted her when she was 16 in 2014. Two other accusers say Dowley forced them to engage in sexual activity.

Dowley’s attorney says his client “wanted to accept responsibility early on” in the case.
