WARDSBORO, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police are investigating a homicide in the town of Wardsboro.

Police say troopers were called to the scene at around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday and found the body of a 42-year-old Kirby Staib, of Wardsboro.

Police say Staib was shot and have identified the shooter as 57-year-old Kevin Parker, of Wardsboro.

No charges have been filed.

The cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy.

Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
