BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A woman who shot and killed a co-worker during a brawl at a Birmingham security company last year has pleaded guilty to reckless manslaughter.

Al.com (https://bit.ly/2dznSZt ) reports that 28-year-old Stephanie Brown entered her plea Monday following the November shooting death of 29-year-old Jamall Holder at I.P.E.S. Security.

Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards said the fight started when a female employee learned she was being fired and confronted Brown.

Holder, who was picking up his first paycheck, tried to break up the fight, but he was shot by Brown.

Brown is scheduled to be sentenced on November 28.
