MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A man has admitted his role in a 2014 attack in a grocery store parking lot in Memphis.

The Commercial Appeal (https://memne.ws/2dBGdr8 ) reports 21-year-old Raheem Richardson pleaded guilty Friday to assault and riot charges in Shelby County Criminal Court.

Police say a group of teenagers first attacked a 25-year-old customer as he left his car to enter a Kroger store. Two store employees were then knocked unconscious as they attempted to stop the fight.

The group dispersed before police arrived. The injured were treated at the scene.

Eight youths involved in the attack were ordered to complete community service, write apology letters, attend school and stay out of trouble. Two others were placed in the custody of the Department of Children’s Services.

Richardson is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 16.
