BLACK CREEK, Ga. (AP) - A Georgia firearms maker is planning to expand its Savannah-area operations and create about 75 jobs.

Gov. Nathan Deal’s office said in a news release Wednesday that Daniel Defense is set to spend $29.5 million to expand its Bryan County headquarters and consolidate its Ridgeland, South Carolina operations.

Officials say the newly created jobs will involve positions in assembly, machining, marketing and engineering.

Daniel previously expanded in 2014 at a site in the area of Ellabell.
