BALTIMORE (AP) - Police are searching for a man they say freed himself from handcuffs, then escaped from a police station in downtown Baltimore.

Police spokeswoman Detective Chakia Fennoy said Friday by phone that police are still looking for 41-year-old Vernon Goode, who escaped Thursday evening. Police said in a statement that Goode was arrested on a domestic violence warrant and taken to the Central District station. Police say it appears that Goode “worked his way out of his handcuffs before escaping on foot.”

Police ask anyone who sees Goode or knows where he is to call 911.
