FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) - A 16-year-old fugitive who was among the youngest suspects ever placed on the Massachusetts state police’s Most Wanted List has pleaded not guilty in the shooting death of a Fall River man.

Jayden Smith had been on the run since he allegedly shot and killed 29-year-old Jerrod Cohen on July 11 outside his home. Smith was found hiding in a friend’s bedroom in Fall River Monday.

He’s being charged as an adult and is due back in Fall River Superior Court Dec. 13. It couldn’t be immediately be determined if he had a lawyer.

Smith’s 16-year old friend was also charged with being an accessory to murder after the fact. Another 16-year-old boy has already pleaded not guilty in Cohen’s death. Both murder suspects are being held without bail.
