ROICK HILL, S.C. (AP) - A company that makes adaptors for the air conditioning industry is expanding to South Carolina, creating more than 80 jobs in York County.

Crystal Distribution announced Wednesday that it’s investing almost $5 million to build a new building in Rock Hill.

Some of the jobs will be transferred from the company’s operations in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The company makes what are known as curb adaptors which allow new air conditioning units to be attached to vents in existing structures.

Hiring for the new positions is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2017.
