PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Two former deputies are accused of having sex with inmates while working at the Jackson County jail.

Local media outlets report that Sheriff Mike Ezell says a grand jury on Monday indicted 36-year-old Bradley Scott Davis of Moss Point and 33-year-old Johnathan Jenkins of Indianola, each on a charge of unlawful sexual activity.

Ezell says Davis had an inappropriate relationship with a female inmate during a two-week period in June, and Jenkins had an inappropriate relationship with a female inmate for two days in September.

Both men were working as corrections officers at the jail during those times. Davis was arrested Monday, and Jenkins turned himself in to authorities Tuesday.

Ezell says Davis had worked with the department for 11 years.

It’s unclear if the men have attorneys.
