DOVER, Del. (AP) - Dover police say a man shot by a probation and parole officer is facing gun and drug charges.

Charges against 25-year-old Jamera Fisher include possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm during a felony, possession of heroin and marijuana, and reckless endangering.

A passenger in Fisher’s vehicle, 22-year-old Kylea Ewell, faces drug and conspiracy charges.

Authorities say Fisher, who had a warrant for failure to appear in court, was spotted Tuesday by officers.

Police say that Fisher rammed two patrol cars while trying to flee, then drove toward the officers when they were outside their vehicles. The probation and parole officer fired four times, striking Fisher, who suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Fisher is black. The officer, who is white, has been placed on administrative leave.
