GATLINBURG, Tenn. (AP) - Roads through the Greenbrier section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park will be closed for bridge repairs next month.

The project by the Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division of the Federal Highway Administration is part of a larger effort to make preventative repairs to bridges throughout the park.

Officials with the country’s most-visited national park say that Ramsey Prong Road will be closed from the turnoff to the trailhead from Nov. 1 to Nov. 14 to allow for work on two bridges.

The entire Greenbrier area will then be closed from Nov. 14 to Nov. 18 to work om the bridge just before the ranger station.

The three bridges’ decks and railings will be removed and running boards will be installed on top of the new decks.
