LAS VEGAS (AP) - A man who was sitting with his wife on a sidewalk wall when they were struck by a vehicle driven by an allegedly drunk driver says he doesn’t remember much about the crash, but recalls trying to call his wife’s name afterward.

Christopher Barela tells KSNV-TV (https://bit.ly/2eUJNJQ ) he didn’t get a response.

Authorities say Barela’s wife was killed and Barela was injured.

Police say the 45-year-old driver, Andrea Corbani, was arrested on a felony drunk driving charge after the crash late Wednesday near the busy intersection of Charleston and Las Vegas boulevards.

Court information for Corbani wasn’t immediately available, and it wasn’t clear if she has a lawyer.

The Clark County coroner hasn’t identified the dead woman.

Barela is hospitalized at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he tells KSNV he and his wife had been married about four years and had been living on the streets.
