TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A standoff with a fugitive at a Tucson motel has ended peacefully.

Pima County sheriff’s deputies say 45-year-old Jack Voris was booked Saturday on seven counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of and one count of prohibited possession of a firearm.

The U.S. Marshals Service says a task force was serving a warrant on Voris at Quality Inn and Suites on Friday near Interstate 10 and Palo Verde.

Voris allegedly fired on marshals as soon as they arrived and they returned fire.

A Pima County Regional SWAT team and a bomb squad were deployed.

Voris barricaded himself inside.

The ensuing standoff led to the motel’s evacuation, closures on I-10 exits and traffic delays for several hours.

Voris surrendered without incident.
