ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - An investigation into reports of counterfeit money showing up at businesses in Winder (WHINE-der) has led authorities to arrest a Statham man.

Winder Police have arrested 33-year-old Michael James Crowe on two counts of forgery, possession of tools used in a crime and possession of drug related objects. Bond information and whether he has an attorney was not known Saturday.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2fhOK2R ) police searched Crowe’s home Tuesday and found 17 mobile devices, six digital memory cards, two computers, three ink jet printers and other materials used to generate counterfeit money. Police also stopped him in his car and found him in possession of counterfeit money.

The investigation is ongoing. Police say the U.S. Secret Service is assisting.
