NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - Want to report a crime in Adams County? There’s an app for that.

In an attempt to increase its crime-fighting arsenal, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office is launching a new app.

The Natchez Democrat (https://bit.ly/2dBqDX9) reports county residents will be connected with the department to find information, view alerts and submit anonymous tips from their smartphone or other mobile device.

Sheriff Travis Patten said he’s committed to implementing strategies to create an innovative law enforcement agency, including proactive policing, problem solving and advanced technology.

The tip system is anonymous, as the technology removes all identifying information before law enforcement is able to view it.
