LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Police in Las Cruces have arrested a teenager suspected of shooting a 20-year-old man at an apartment complex last month.

They say 18-year-old Joshua Jones is being held on a $20,000 cash-only bond on suspicion of one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Police were dispatched to a report of a shooting at The Verge apartments on Sept. 24.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries to both legs and his right arm.

Police say the man and several of his friends were at the apartment having a party.

Jones and a few other men arrived and were told the party was over and they weren’t allowed into the apartment.

A verbal argument escalated quickly and witnesses say they heard multiple gunshots.
