SKOWHEGAN, Maine (AP) - A Maine man has been indicted on a murder charge in connection with the death of his wife, who was found partially buried in a shallow grave behind her in-laws’ home last month.

The Morning Sentinel (https://bit.ly/2edViwU ) reports that a Somerset County grand jury indicted 33-year-old Luc Tieman, of Fairfield, last week in the death of 34-year-old Valerie Tieman.

Tieman’s body was found on Sept. 20. Police say the woman was shot in the head and neck by her husband. She is believed to have died Aug. 25. An autopsy found that she was buried along with a bag of potato chips, a bottle of perfume and a note that took “an apologetic tone.”

Luc Tieman’s attorney has said he expects the public “will not exercise a rush to judgment.”
