LAFAYETTE, Ore. (AP) - Authorities in Yamhill County have identified a woman who was found dead on a frontage road near a blueberry field in Lafayette.

The sheriff’s office said Tuesday they are looking for a person of interest in the death of 37-year-old Lilia Cosco-Ortiz of Vancouver, Washington.

People driving in the area spotted Cosco-Ortiz’s body on Sunday afternoon and authorities believe she was murdered.

Family members told investigators Cosco-Ortiz left for the coast late Saturday and was expected back soon.

They reported her missing to Vancouver police on Sunday.

Authorities say 37-year-old Victor Melcher Villalba is a person of interest in the case.

He was last seen driving a 2003 white extended cab Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with an Oregon license plate of 1-8-4-H-L-R.

Villalba also goes by Victor Bello Rojas.
