GROTON, Conn. (AP) - An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting in the parking lot of a Groton restaurant that left a teenager wounded.

Police early Wednesday morning announced the arrest of a 17-year-old.

Officers were called to the parking lot of the 99 Restaurant and Pub Sunday afternoon. When they arrived they found a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. The teen was taken to a hospital, where police say he underwent emergency surgery.

Police have arrested and charged a 17-year-old with assault, robbery and carrying a pistol without a permit.

They say the investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are expected.

Police say the shooting was unrelated to the restaurant.
