CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire’s Executive Council has confirmed Capt. Christopher Wagner as the new director of the state police.

Wagner, of Litchfield, was nominated by Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan. He was recommended by Department of Safety Commissioner John Barthelmes to replace Robert Quinn, who has held the job since 2010 and is moving on to assistant commissioner of the department.

Wagner is the support services bureau commander for the state police. He is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the support structure and logistical needs of the various units statewide.
