LOS ANGELES (AP) - Gusty winds and bone-dry weather are bringing extreme fire danger to Southern California and it will last into the weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued red flag warnings and watches from Thursday through Saturday for several counties - especially the mountains, valleys and coastline.

Winds gusting to around 40 mph and single-digit humidity could turn small fires into big ones.

Temperatures should start rising Thursday and will top 90 in some valley and desert areas.
