MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) - Manitowoc County sheriff’s officials say an autopsy has confirmed a body found along a Lake Michigan beach is that of a missing boater.

Authorities say 75-year-old Francis Knipp, of Manitowoc, was sailing alone on the lake when the boat was found capsized Sept. 11. Knipp’s body was found on the beach in the Town of Newton Sept. 27. An autopsy determined the likely cause of death is accidental drowning.
