SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Police have identified the body of man found in a wooded area of South Burlington earlier this week.
Police say it was 32-year-old Shawn M. Carter who was found dead on Monday.
Carter was a suspect in two recent robberies in Colchester.
Police were alerted to the body after residents near the intersection called to report an odor thought to be a gas leak.
Vermont Gas was called to investigate and workers discovered the body.
Police say needles were found near the body and there were no signs of trauma or foul play. Investigators believe the man died of an accidental overdose, but are awaiting for the results of toxicology tests.
