ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York authorities say a state worker has pleaded guilty to a felony for falsely stating on her resume she held degrees from colleges she didn’t attend.

According to the inspector general’s office, 38-year-old Qiana Joy-L Woods, of Menands, has also resigned from her state job.

Investigators say Woods, when hired by the Department of Motor Vehicles as a customer service representative in 2013, provided a resume claiming a bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University in Baltimore.

They say the claim was repeated in a resume submitted for a job as an office assistant at the Thruway Authority in 2014 and repeated this year in applying for a position at the Office of General Services, adding a master’s degree from the State University at Albany.

Sentencing is scheduled Dec. 1.
