MANASSAS, Va. (AP) - Prince William County authorities say an eighth suspect has been arrested in an alleged gang-related slaying.
Twenty-seven-year-old Dimas Misael Canales Santos of Hyattsville, Maryland, turned himself in Friday to Prince George’s County police. He was charged with murder and conspiracy.
A 17-year-old Maryland boy also was charged this week in the death of 21-year-old Christian Alexander Sosa Rivas of Fairfax, whose body was found in January on the Potomac River shoreline near Dumfries.
Six other suspects, including another juvenile, were previously arrested in the killing, which police have said is connected to the MS-13 street gang.
Police also have said the killing of Sosas Rivas is connected to the slaying of 15-year-old Damaris Reyes Rivas of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Fairfax County Police have charged 10 people in connection with her death.
